Groundwater vision for South AustraliaSouth Australia’s Australian Groundwater Technologies (AGT) and sister company, Desaln8 Pty Ltd, will commence working together in 2009 to make the state’s vast groundwater resource part of the state’s long-term water solution. “We are leaders the investigation, design and implementation of Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR) schemes within Australia,” said AGT General Manager, Nick Wilson. “With Deslan8’s proprietary In-Situ Desalination (ISD) technology we can now offer the people of South Australia a total solution for sustainable groundwater extraction.” Mr Wilson said it was ironic that South Australia’s fresh water supplies are at historically low levels yet “we are literally walking on water.” “Beneath our feet are millions of litres of groundwater that can be extracted for sustainable human use,” he said. “Deslan8’s ISD converts poor quality groundwater into available high quality water.” On 25 February AGT launched its vision for SA’s groundwater solutions at the opening of its new premises at Mile End South.
